History of the production site Dresden

1904
On October, 1st of October was the founding of the company Koch&Sterzel “Spezialfabrik wissenschaftlicher Appartate und Instrumente” (Special factory for Scientific Apparatus and Instruments)

1914
Koch&Sterzel had a staff of more than 200.

1943
The employees had increased to 1,840.

1946
Expropriation – under the new name “Transformatoren- und Röntgenwerk” the company becomes a State Owned Enterprise (VEB) two years later.

1958
On occasion of the Leipziger Spring Fair the enterprise gets the established company logo.

1970/78
Gradual reconstruction of the Transformer Company; an assortment change and technology change.  8,000 Medium Voltage Transformers and 250,000 Low Voltage Transformers annually are produced.  TuR becomes one of the most important supplier for Medium Voltage Transformers in Eastern Europe (Bulgaria, Rumania, Hungary) and Russia.

1990/91
Restructure, with the sale of TuR to Siemens and the RITZ-Group

1992
Establishment of “RITZ Messwandler Dresden GmbH”.

1994
Relocation to the new production site in Ottendorf-Okrilla near Dresden Continued development and enhancement of our medium voltage product line

2004
Extension of the production area through a new production hall

2007
Change of company name to “RITZ Instrument Transformers GmbH”
